Boilers Installations

In certain situations it is sensible just to replace the boiler in a central heating system, it maybe that the other parts of the system are still functioning correctly and are in good condition.

At Go Green we are experts in updating existing systems with new higher efficiency London boilers and more effective controls. The energy saving trust estimates you can reduce fuel bills by 32 per cent when replacing a 15 year old boiler, with a high efficiency one. By replacing your boiler with a higher efficiency condensing boiler you will not only save on fuel bills but do your bit for the environment and you'll reduce your home's annual carbon footprint by about 2.5 tons of carbon dioxide.

We can guide you through the choice of different products and systems available as we install hundreds of London boilers a year and as we are a green company we can ensure that the boiler we install is perfect for your home and your lifestyle.

Combi Boilers

Combi – short for "combination" – boilers are the most popular form of boiler in the London, accounting for more than 60% of boiler sales.

A combi boiler is a highly efficient water heater and central heating boiler combined in a single unit. Water is heated on demand from within the unit itself, so a combi boiler (unlike a conventional boiler -- which typically requires a copper cylinder in an airing cupboard or elsewhere to store hot water)it can be a practical solution if space in your home is at a premium. They can be hung conveniently on a kitchen wall, for example, and their installation is less disruptive and less expensive than that of conventional boilers.

The absence of a storage cylinder means that significant savings on water heating can be made. This may mean that you can enjoy a high pressure "power" shower without the need for an additional pump.

A condensing combi boiler is a popular option, adding extra efficiency to the – already not insignificant – benefits of a standard combi boiler.

Are Combi Boilers classed a High Efficiency Boilers?

Yes. All the Combi Boilers that go green plumbing and heating have available for sale are classed as High Efficiency Condensing Boilers. The high efficiency of these boilers is achieved by recycling and abstracting the heat from the exhaust gases where, in non-condensing boilers, the heat present in the exhaust gases is wasted to the atmosphere. A-rated boilers - having efficiencies of over 90% carry the energy saving recommended

Systems Boilers

A gas systems boiler is for use within a large property with multiple bathrooms, due to the need for greater Water demand. The gas systems boiler comes with everything already built into the boiler to create a Sealed System.

This includes a Pump, Expansion Valve, Pressure Relief Valve and Pressure Gauge. with the systems boiler already having these components inside the boiler this saves time and space for the plumber and Householder respectively. A gas systems boiler would normally be fitted for use with a Stainless Steel Unvented Cylinder which negates the need for a Cold Water storage tank in the loft due to the cylinder being fed by the Cold Mains water Pipe.

An Indirect Cylinder (Stainless Steel) used in line with a gas systems boiler can produce recovery times of only 15 minutes with a 70L cylinder and only 27 minutes on a 300L cylinder after a 70% draw off which is considerably less than a normal Open Vented Copper Cylinder.

The Benefits of a Systems Boiler

The other benefits of a gas systems boiler installation is that you can achieve a higher Water Pressure to be able to cope with the multiple Draw offs, which allows the water to be pumped around the Primary Hot Water circuit and the Central Heating circuit at higher Flow Rates which is more economical than the traditional Open Vented system.

Are System Boilers classed a High Efficiency Boilers?

Yes. All the systems Boilers that Go Green Plumbing and Heating install are High Efficiency Boilers. The high efficiency of these boilers is achieved by recycling and abstracting the heat from the exhaust gases where, in non-condensing boilers, the heat present in the exhaust gases is wasted to the atmosphere.

The Conventional Heating System

Requires two water tanks located high up one a Cold Water Storage Tank the other an Expansion / Feed tank, also requires a Hot Water Cylinder.

The storage cylinder holds a large quantity of hot water that is available immediately (or as soon as the feed allows). However when this store has been used up it has to be reheated, this could take anything up to 1 hour.

This type of system is considered the least efficient as there are heat losses from the pipe work to and from the boiler to the cylinder and the cylinder itself.
